Future Plans - Project One Campus

 Project One Campus

We are delighted to introduce our vision for 2020 which aims to enhance and develop the educational experience for every pupil in the Warwick Independent Schools Foundation. Our pupils have long benefited from a close collaborative relationship between our schools and this project brings them all together on one interlinking and green campus. King’s High School will move from its Smith Street location to new purpose built school buildings on the Myton Road campus, joining Warwick School and Warwick Preparatory School.

Our pupils will benefit from the new state-of-the-art buildings, playgrounds and playing fields, connected by interlinking pedestrianised tree lined walkways and set amidst landscaped courtyards. The Foundation plans to develop the design and apply for planning consent in the late autumn.

The project, which is likely to take three years to complete, will include a new main King’s High School building, a substantial new music building to be shared between King’s and Warwick Prep, new play spaces for Warwick Prep, improvements and extension to the Bridge Sports Centre and a new shared Sixth Form Centre, including a first-class Careers Zone. Sports facilities will be enhanced, with an additional AstroTurf and a 4G sports pitch, whilst a master plan for the entire site will see the creation of linked green spaces and courtyards to foster a tranquil and welcoming environment. All traffic will be directed to the perimeter of the site, with improved parking provision, to establish a safe and pedestrianised centre for our pupils.

This programme will represent a major investment in all the schools which will strengthen them individually, provide equality of opportunity for boys and girls of all ages and facilitate the collaborative opportunities uniquely available to a family of schools such as ours.

This is extremely exciting news for our schools and our Foundation and we look forward, in the coming years, to the creation of a distinctive and very special community on a single and outstanding campus.

Planning permission was granted on 25 April and the project is going to tender.  It is expected that building work will commence in July.

Project One Campus Update - 20 January 2017

The Project One Campus master plan proposals were presented by WISF staff and the project team at a series of consultation events held between 10 – 13 Oct. The consultation event was well attended by parents, pupils, staff and the general public. We had 269 signatories register at the event and feedback on the design was very positive. The feedback received at the event and on the completed feedback forms was captured by the project team and reviewed subsequent to the consultation event.

Since the consultation event, the team have been busy progressing the design and a full planning application was submitted to Warwick District Council in late November. The application is now available for public viewing. Please click here.

Work continues on the development of the design and further images of the new buildings – Main School, Music and Sports Technology - have been uploaded to the gallery on the Project One Campus website: www.projectonecampus or you can access them by clicking here.
