Academic Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded annually to students who demonstrate exceptional academic ability and potential. They are highly competitive awards and academic standards at King’s High are very strong.

Applicants will need to evidence an impressive academic pedigree: we would expect applicants to be on course to achieve A* - A or equivalent grades (7+ on the numerical system) in all of their GCSE subjects.

The number of awards, and their financial value, varies according to the strength of the applications received each year. On average we tend to receive approximately 25 applications and award around five Sixth-Form scholarships.

You are eligible to apply for an Academic Scholarship if:

  • You are in Year 11 at King’s High and do not hold an Academic Scholarship already
  • You are an external candidate in the final year of their GCSE course and have registered to join the Sixth Form at King’s
