The Creative Arts are an integral part of King’s High. The creativity, self-reliance and commitment the arts engender, enables our students to develop confidence, poise, dedication and flexibility of approach. Girls are encouraged to participate in the School's many showcase and performance opportunities from exhibitions to orchestras, choirs, jazz bands, drama and dance workshops and productions. Their experiences are heightened by our purpose built Creative Arts Centre. Most students play a musical instrument and many girls leave School having achieved the highest possible grade in the Associated Music Board and LAMDA Examinations.
Opened by Miss Catherine Botts in 2009, the Creative Arts Centre houses the Art, Design and Technology, Drama and Music Departments at King’s High. Furnished with the latest equipment and technology, the pupils are able to reach their creative potential in an environment designed to maximise their artistic skills. The project cost £3.7 million and has transformed the former St. Nicholas building into a stunning suite of performance and rehearsal rooms for music, dance and drama; classrooms, storerooms and offices; and enhanced art and design and technology facilities.
