Rachael Jefferies – Piano

Rachael gained her diploma in organ performance before attending Edinburgh University, where she was an organ scholar.  Whilst there, she studied with John Kitchen, won the Anderson Prize for Organ Performance and in her final year was awarded the Fraser Scholarship for further study abroad.  Her studies in organ performance continued in Colorado under Robert Cavarra, where she received a Foley scholarship and gained a Master’s degree in organ performance.  She was awarded The Sallee Fellowship for Musical Excellence, from Colorado State University.

In 1996 she returned to England and qualified with a PGCE in secondary education.  Since then she has had a busy career as a class music teacher and an instrumental teacher of organ and piano.  She has had wide experience in recital work as soloist and accompanist and as director of a number of local choral groups.  Her most long standing work has been as Director of Music at St Nicholas Church, Warwick, and with the Warwick Schools’ Foundation where she has taught both class music and organ and piano studies for many years.
