Sarah Saunders - Recorder and Oboe

Sarah began her training in the Vienna Konservatorium immediately after school.  Following a music degree at Birmingham University she embarked on joint studies in Baroque oboe and Recorder in Utrecht and Amsterdam Conservatoriums studying with Frank de Bruine and Saskia Coolen.

Whilst studying in Holland Sarah met her husband and stayed for another seven years.  During this time she taught recorder at the British School of Amsterdam and freelanced on both instruments.

As a freelance musician Sarah has worked with many different orchestras both in the UK and abroad. These include Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra (America Tour 2006), Accademia Amsterdam, La Stagione (Frankfurt), Cappella Obliqua (Basel), Kings Consort, Florilegium, Ex Cathedra, the Creakes Sinfonia, The Borromini Ensemble, Essex Baroque Orchestra, Leeds Baroque Orchestra, Maniera (including Italian Tour), Trinity Players, Dunedin Consort, Armonico Tributo, Welsh Baroque Orchestra and The Musical and Amicable Society.

Sarah currently teaches oboe and recorder at King’s High School, Warwick Preparatory School and The Croft Preparatory School.
