Saturday June 25th 2011 - 1960s Decade Day

Were you at King’s High in the 1960s? Miss Hare was Headmistress, Miss Whittlesey was her deputy, and the gym became the library. A new gym and Priory block became familiar sights. It was the decade of the Beatles, Kennedy’s assassination, mini-skirts, flower power and the first moon landings.

We are planning to hold a 1960s Decade Day in 2011 but need your help! If you / your mother / your aunt / your neighbour / your friend came here as a pupil or teacher at KHS in the 1960s, please contact Alison Lima at a.lima@kingshighwarwick.co.uk. We would like to have your up-to-date name and contact details, and your memories of school life in the 1960s.

Talk to us!

We would like you to tell us what sort of events you would like us to organise. Currently, we produce the High Times Newsletter twice a year, and organise a London reunion event in April, and a Decade Day Lunch in June. We also help organise the OGA lunch in March. What else would you enjoy as a way both of keeping in touch with old schoolfriends, and also of keeping in touch with the school? A Christmas lunch? In school or elsewhere? A rambling club? We’d love to hear what you think we could develop. Please send your ideas to Ron Gellért-Binnie, Alumnae Relations Manager r.binnie@kingshighwarwick.co.uk
