Sarah Allen, Emma Woods, Amelia Dowler and Joanna Kyffin catch up on old times.

Included among the assembled company was our guest of honour, Mrs. Joyce Kuhns (née Jennings) now a sprightly 98 year old. Mrs. Kuhns, who attended KHS from 1923 - 1933 gave a hugely entertaining talk on life as a boarder in the 1920s and 30s. Introducing Mrs. Kuhns, Ron Gellért-Binnie pointed out that not only had she been a member of both the science club and debating committees, a member of the school council and a very useful right back in the school hockey team. Among her other sporting achievements were a first in the egg and spoon race on school sports day on June 12th 1930, a title she retained in 1931!

As the event coincided precisely with the school’s 131st birthday, a suitably decorated birthday cake was supplied, which was cut with due ceremony by Mrs. Kuhns.

OGA Secretary Polly Beidas gave a vote of thanks to Mrs. Kuhns.

There was much reminiscing and merriment as the evening progressed, and all agreed the reunion had been a huge success.
