Former Deputy Head Girl (2007-2008) Lucie Browning who is in her second year reading engineering at Cambridge University, played in the University Blues Team for the crucial Varsity Match between Cambridge and Oxford on March 2nd at Southgate stadium in London. The match was a nail biter to the end with Oxford narrowly winning 3-2, scoring the clincher in the dying minutes of the game. Playing for Oxford was King’s High Old Girl Charlotte Jackson (left in 2006), so King’s High was well represented in the match.

Lucie lost the first set 2-6, but somehow managed to pull the game round and win the next two 6-2, 6-4.

Lucie said “It was fantastic to play at Lords, and I was very pleased that the current world champion, Charlotte Cornwallis (who used to give real tennis lessons to the girls at King’s fortnightly), managed to come and cheer us on in the singles on the Friday!”
