Glorious weather added the finishing touch to our Old Girls Summer Barbecue on July 3 2010. A substantial number of Old Girls, many accompanied by husbands/partners and children gathered in the lovely garden of the New Bowling Green Inn, Warwick, to enjoy an informal family afternoon of friendship, fun, relaxation and the tastiest home-made burgers ever! Although most of the Old Girls lived locally, some had travelled a distance to attend, the furthest flung having driven up from deepest Dorset.
One of Alumnae Relations Manager, Ron Gellért-Binnie’s daughters found she was sitting opposite Old Girl Judith Woof (née Walden) who turned out to be the midwife who had delivered both of her children - what a small world!
Acquaintances renewed, old memories rekindled, reminiscences galore. In spite of stiff competition from world cup football, and Wimbledon ladies singles final, a good turnout ensured a most enjoyable afternoon.
