At King’s High we have a Gifted and Talented programme that is coordinated by our G&T coordinator. It aims to provide enrichment and extension activities and opportunities for girls for whom it is appropriate. Our approach to G&T is very inclusive with our aim being to maximise the ways in which we can personalise the curriculum for each student. Strategies used vary from department to department but include setting, offering additional qualifications, trips and visits, research tasks and opportunities for independent study. Our highly qualified and experienced staff are always willing to talk to girls and offer them ideas for ways to gain more from their studies and interests.
At King’s High we are able to accommodate a wide range of Special Educational Needs. Our Special Educational Needs coordinator meets regularly with girls and parents to discuss their individual education plans and also advises staff on appropriate strategies to use with individual girls. Extra time in examinations is also arranged as necessary. As always, parents’ first port of call should be their daughter’s Head of Key Stage who will be pleased to arrange contact between parents and the SenCo.
