Exams Department The exams department is led by an experienced examinations officer who oversees entries, the conduct of the examinations, results and reviews of marking. Resits Whether or not to take a resit in a subject or module should be considered very carefully. You must be sure that you know why you didn’t achieve as well as expected the first time around and that you know what you will be doing differently this time. Preparing for a resit requires a lot of independent study and should be done over and above the work that you need to complete as a matter of course to keep on top of your current modules. You must be sure that resits will not get in the way of your other progress. Talk with your form tutor and subject teachers about whether they feel that resits are the best option for you.
Examination Entries Examination entries are made on your behalf by the examinations department in conjunction with the heads of department of the subjects that you study. Well in advance of your examinations you will be given a confirmation of your entries by the examinations officer and you must check this very carefully to ensure that there are no errors or omissions. Similarly when you are given your examination timetable it is your responsibility to note carefully on which days and which sessions you have external examinations. Detailed timetables are also published on the examinations notice board.
