Activities Outside the Classroom
A wide range of extra-curricular activities is on offer at lunchtime and after school. We encourage girls to participate in order to develop personal interests, broaden their horizons and develop artistically, socially and creatively.
Music, drama, art, sport and computing are catered for, as well as a variety of other fun activities such as hip-hop dancing, water polo, debating, life-saving, ballet, and art appreciation.
We are fortunate to be able to offer some of these such as climbing, orchestra, choir and drama in association with Warwick School.
Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
Our Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme (DoE) has grown dramatically since it was founded in 1992 and the unit is now one of the largest in central Warwickshire.
Approximately sixty girls generally enrol for Bronze level (at the end of Year 9). Around twenty of these will go on to do Silver in Year 11, with some continuing to Gold in the sixth form.
King's In The Community
All girls work in the local community and raise money for worthwhile causes. Fundraising has been an integral part of school life for many years and we always consider girls' suggestions about causes we could support.
The school has a particularly strong relationship with the local elderly club, the Iris Lees Day Club. Year 7 girls provide entertainment at Christmas and host an annual lunch for their elderly neighbours in the Summer. Girls in Years 8 and 9 maintain their garden, while Year 10 girls help out at events, in the charity shop and sometimes act as bingo callers.
