Sixth Form at King's
King’s High sixth form is stimulating, intellectual and contemporary. It offers an exciting range of AS and A2 courses and a versatile extra-curricular programme. The atmosphere is focussed yet relaxed.
The sixth form is now housed in a state-of-the-art centre comprising study facilities, common rooms, kitchen, and relaxation areas in addition to tutorial rooms for up to 150 girls.
Each girl has her own tutor and UCAS mentor. The Head of Sixth Form leads the team of tutors and works closely with the Head of Careers to ensure that each girl reaches her potential, makes good decisions and feels motivated and fulfilled in her final years at school.
Our Sixth Formers are confident and successful, not only in their academic studies but also in the wide range of extra–curricular activities they pursue.
Life in the Sixth Form
We believe in establishing a workable, enjoyable balance in the school day. Study time encourages independent learning, with the tutor keeping an overall view of whether girls are using their time wisely. Girls have a fabulous common room and state of the art quiet study.
Extra-curricular activities and opportunities for service are diverse. The atmosphere is busy- being a prefect, doing duties, belonging to and taking a leading role in teams, choirs and orchestras, attending subject-related conferences and looking after younger girls create a purposeful buzz and the sense of a community working together.
The sixth form has its own Forum, ensuring that the girls can have their say. The dress code is smart.
Activities with Warwick School
We believe that our girls enjoy the best of both worlds, being educated in a single sex environment while reaping co-educational benefits from our close links with nearby
Warwick
School.
Sixth formers can take part in our joint activities programme, which includes Latin dance, cookery, Arabic, photography and fitness.
The schools regularly put on joint drama and music performances, and share other facilities where appropriate.
