Our Aims

You are entrusting your daughter’s education to us. While academic achievement and success is intrinsic to our role, we believe we offer far more than a stimulating learning environment. We aim to:

  • educate your daughter as an individual by encouraging and motivating her to discover and develop to the full all her skills, talents and abilities
  • foster in your daughter a sense of social responsibility and a love of learning, of excellence, of truthfulness and of integrity
  • prepare your daughter for a fulfilling adult life as a woman in the twenty-first century
  • create in partnership with parents, Governors, staff and pupils a community based on Christian principles which is secure, harmonious, stimulating and agreeable to all those within it.

Development Activities and Updates

King’s High believes in continuous development to improve our facilities and progress the education we offer. To this end we have initiated a number of projects to take our school into the next decade:

Phase 1 - completed September 2006

  • Sixth Form centre which unites our lower and upper sixth forms creating an adult environment for learning, private study and leisure
  • ICT suite: a classroom with 30 dedicated IT workstations housing state-of-the-art computing facilities for cross-curricular use
  • New classrooms: six new classrooms with dedicated specialist facilities and sophisticated technology
  • Sports and fitness facilities: three match size floodlit courts and a modern fitness suite.

Phase 2 - Start date 2007/08

We are now about to embark on Phase Two of our grand development programme. This is the transformation of the “St. Nicholas” building, currently used for music, art and Design Technology, into a £3.7 million Creative Arts Centre.

The building will be transformed to include a music school, complete with performance and rehearsal rooms for music and drama, classrooms, offices and practice rooms, as well as a small drama and dance studio and enhanced art and Design Technology facilities. We have succeeded in gaining planning permission for the Centre, and aim to commence building work in July 2008, to conclude in August 2009.

Phase 3 - Start date 2010

  • Drama Studio, dining/multipurpose activity facility
