Sixth Form Collaboration

How many molecules are there in a teaspoon of water?  What distance could a ballpoint pen write? How many dump trucks would it take to cart away Mount Everest?

These are just some of the questions that Sixth Form students from King’s High and Warwick School have grappled with collaboratively this week.  With aspirations for applying to highly competitive science based courses at top universities including Oxford and Cambridge this session marked the beginnings of a regular collaborative programme which is aiming to challenge and inspire Sixth Form pupils at both schools emulating university admissions tests and interviews. Many Sixth Form pupils from both schools are already participating in the numerous opportunities provided for academic enrichment such as the Encounters lecture series on a Friday afternoon and various academic societies such as Café Scientifique and Journal Club which meet regularly.
