Our vision is to support as many young people as possible to reach their full potential and encourage lifelong learning regardless of background. One of the ways we are doing this is by broadening access for talented local children to an independent school education.
Foundation Bursaries
Bursaries are means-tested awards offering free or discounted fees based on financial need.
Across Warwick Schools Foundation, we offer two different type of bursary – one which is based on where the child lives (the CV34 Awards) and one which is open to families from all postcodes (our Foundation bursaries). The funding available from a bursary operates on a sliding scale – from 100% of fees covered, to smaller proportions, dependent on household income.
To be eligible for a bursary-funded place at one of our schools, children must also meet the usual conditions of entry – that is, they must satisfy the requirements of the school’s assessment and interview processes. There are limited funds available, so not all children who are offered a place at the school will also be offered a bursary, even if the financial assessment deems them to be eligible. The bursaries are awarded on a competitive basis and are limited to the funds available. All bursaries are re-assessed annually.
The support available is based on a combination of the following:
- Financial need – determined by a means testing assessment by our external partners Bursary Assessment Associates (BAA).
- Your child’s performance – based on exam results, the interview and the report received from your child’s current school.
- Overall demand – bursaries are awarded on a competitive basis, as limited funds are available.
CV34 Bursaries
As part of the town of Warwick, we strive to have a meaningful impact on the local area and reflect the communities we serve. We are pleased to be able to offer the CV34 bursaries to families who are seeking financial support to enable them to apply for a place at one of our schools. The CV34 bursaries are open to children joining Warwick Schools Foundation schools in Year 3, Year 7 or Year 12 who live in the CV34 postcode.

The CV34 bursary is means-tested and offered on a sliding scale of fee discount, dependent on household income. Application for a bursary is subject to an external financial assessment via our trusted third party partners.
The process for bursary applications is as follows:
- Meet our team, explore the school and decide if it’s the right place for your child.
- Once you have decided, make an application ahead of the earlier bursary deadline, being sure to tick the box on the application form that states you are interested in a CV34 bursary.
- On receipt of your form, and when bursary assessments are open, our team will send you a link to start your financial assessment.
- If the declared total income of all those with parental responsibility is under £104,000, our external partners will contact you to carry out a full financial assessment.
- Ahead of the entrance assessment relevant to your child’s application, we will contact you to let you know whether you are financially eligible for a bursary – at this stage, this is not an offer of a bursary as that is dependent on the results of the assessment.
- After the assessment, we will be in touch to let you know if we are offering your child a place, and if so, if there is a bursary for them, and how much it will be worth.
- Bursaries are limited in number and so not all families who are financially eligible and secure a place at the school will be offered a bursary.
- Then it’s over to you to accept your place by the deadline!
