A huge well done to Bethany in Year 9, whose brilliant idea brought the whole school together to celebrate Japan National Foundation Day in February!
‘I’ve always had an interest in Japan, and when I found out that it was Japan National Foundation Day on 11 February, I really wanted to celebrate with the whole school and spread this country’s amazing culture and traditions. The wonderful catering team were phenomenal in helping to make the fantastic lunch that everyone enjoyed, including the sell-out katsudon curry and cherry blossom cupcakes!
‘The paper cranes that were made in the form time activity were sent to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, to remember the hundreds of thousands of innocent people that lost their lives in the atomic bombing in WWII. Thank you so much to the many students and staff who worked with me, including Mrs Jones and Dr Kirby, to make this event possible and a great success!’
