The transition from Year 11 to Sixth Form at King’s High is both exciting and thoroughly supported.
Sixth Form introduces students to a more mature environment, one that nurtures independence while continuing to provide exceptional guidance and care. Every step of the way, we ensure that each student feels confident, well informed, and inspired as she moves forward.
Preparation begins well before GCSE examinations are complete. Students receive detailed guidance on A Level and course choices through subject taster sessions, curriculum information events, and individual conversations with teachers. These discussions encourage each student to reflect on her strengths, interests, and future aspirations so that she can make decisions with clarity and purpose.
Alongside academic preparation, we focus on developing the mindset required for Sixth Form success. Students are encouraged to take greater ownership of their learning, strengthen their organisation and time management skills, and engage more deeply with independent study. This shift helps them approach the next stage of their education with confidence and resilience.
Careers guidance is carefully woven into the transition process. Through our Higher Education Programme and one-to-one guidance meetings, students begin to explore university pathways, degree courses, apprenticeships, and potential careers.
