Margaret Stone's Xylophone

Last week, we welcomed the Squires family, who kindly funded a new Xylophone for the Music Department. There is a lovely story of music and family behind their wonderful gift. Margaret Stone - who the Margaret Stone Practice Room is named after - attended King’s High from 1916-1923. Her family reconnected with King’s High, when they came to the opening of the new Music School.

Margaret’s son David and his wife Jo explained what the school had meant to Margaret and how it shaped her life, and also their lives, growing up. They were inspired listening to our Artistic Director, Alex Laing, which led to a family discussion about how they could assist with equipment. They decided upon our magnificent new Xylophone. Thank you to David and his family for this support.
