School Report - Parsnip, our very own School Dog

Young Parsnip's training for her important role as School Dog is going very well. Mrs Murphy, her Human, reports on her progress to date:

'Parsnip is now 6 months old, and her training is going very well. She has gained her second Certificate, having passed the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme Pre Bronze Standard (this is in addition to her Dogs Trust Puppy Foundation Award, which she has achieved).

She absolutely loves coming into school to familiarise herself with the sounds, smells and people. She particularly enjoys the smells of the dining room (!) and bumping into students as she makes her way to and from her base in the Innovation room.

She is learning to sit before greeting people, and walk to heel, as well as being touched and fussed. A number of students have met Parsnip and she cannot help but make students, staff and visitors smile.

In the coming months, Parsnip will continue her training and continue to spend more time in school and students will become increasingly used to seeing her. I hope she will continue to bring such a sense of joy and happiness.'
