Inspiring music at King’s - learn how to conduct an orchestra
Our pupils have a fabulous opportunity to discover what it feels like to conduct an orchestra, when they join Maestro, Steve Bell of the famous Hallé Orchestra in a Conducting Masterclass/Workshop next week. They will bring along their instruments to form a scratch orchestra for the event.
This is the latest in our popular Inspire Music series, which brings musicians and non-musicians together for a programme of talks, events and recitals from renowned musicians, and our own talented young performers.
A future highlight is a visit from George Caird. As well as being an acclaimed oboist, George Caird is passionate about music education. He was Head of Woodwind and Head of Orchestral Studies at the Royal Academy of Music, and was Principal of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. His brother John co-directed the all-conquering Les Misérables, which became the longest running musical in the West End.
