Personal Achievement Awards
King’s High is very grateful for the work and support of the King’s High Association of Parents and Staff (KHAPS). Each year, KHAPS funds some 25 Personal Achievement Awards, each worth up to £300, to support girls who wish to pursue out-of-school interests, passions and ambitions. These awards help to fund a huge range of different interests. Recently, girls have attended Headstart Engineering Courses, the National Children’s Orchestra, a Fashion Styling & Communication Course, and competed in the West Midlands Junior Triathlon Series. They have attended Leicester University Space School, language courses, cookery courses, done work experience abroad, and completed a PADI Open Water Dive course.
Over half-term, Katie (Year 13) attended a cookery course. She says: ‘I’d just like to say thank you to everyone at KHAPS for helping me fund the course as I thoroughly enjoyed it, and learnt a lot more about cooking, especially tricks for easy and quick meals for university.’ Find out more about KHAPS here
