The Sixth Form Centre

The Sixth Form Centre is shared jointly between King’s High School and Warwick School.

Ground floor - Café and relaxed social space

First floor – Collaborative working space

Top floor – silent study and roof terrace

Opening times

The building opens at 8am and closes at 5.45pm five days a week, unless otherwise indicated. Pupils staying beyond 4.15pm should base themselves on the ground or first floor, and make themselves known to the Sixth Form Supervisor on duty. There is a QR code for signing in.

The building is locked and alarmed outside of these times and pupils may not be in the Sixth Form Centre unless a member of staff is present on duty.

Belongings and tidiness

Pupils may leave bags, coats and other possessions in the cupboards in the Sixth Form Centre. If items go missing, the school cannot be held responsible for these.

We expect all pupils to clear up after themselves, and leave seating areas and all communal areas tidy. Any spillages or mess should be reported to a member of staff who will provide equipment so that pupils can help to sort it out. The Sixth Form Centre is cleaned professionally first thing every morning, but pupils are expected to take responsibility for keeping it in a good and welcoming condition during the day.

Café and food and drink

The café within the Sixth Form Centre is open 8.15 am – 3.15 pm, and accepts cashless payment only. Pupils should bring their own reusable, lidded cup with them for hot drinks.

Food and drink are allowed on the ground floor, but not on the first floor and top floor which are study areas. Pupils may buy snacks and drinks from the café or bring in their own snacks and drinks, but please note that hot food purchased outside school, such as takeaway fast food, must not be brought onto the Foundation site.  We are happy for pupils to bring their lunch from the school Dining Hall over to the Sixth Form Centre in a takeaway box, but they must take responsibility for leaving everything tidy and clean afterwards. If this request is not respected, we will review and possibly remove this privilege.

Roof terrace

The roof terrace is open to pupils at breaktime and lunchtime during periods of good weather.

There is a limit to the numbers of pupils who may be on the whole top floor (which includes the terrace and the silent study area) because of fire regulations, and it may therefore be that access is capped at busy times so that we do not exceed maximum numbers.

Silent study floor

Please the handbook section in Your Studies for information on use of the silent study floor.

Fire procedures

Fire assembly point: all King’s and Warwick Sixth Formers and staff evacuate to the 1st XI Cricket Outfield (towards the pavilion, then to the left by the limes) . The access points through the white fence are to the left corner and to the right corner as you approach from the Sixth Form Centre.
